Today I could not sing along to my playlists as I cleaned, worked out, cooked, and drove.... I seemed more at ease just listening to the artists and each lyric and interpreting.... It seemed as if my thoughts attempted multiple times to keep me from accomplishing anything. I'd be copping up salad and pause randomly to think about petty things....thos e who know me can picture me and crave one of my famous salad like the one I prepared for ma that consisted of endive, red onion, orange slices.

We are in October with Pumpkins on the Avenue of the Americas...

Vinegar at Buonitalia yesterday were all on sale. I walked out of Jack's on 7th and 31st and walked into a parade... I believe it was Korean. One day I'll need that number for sure. All leather ... 40 bucks... soon I'll be needing those as well. You can see walking all over yesterday in a new month (the one of my birthday) felt good as it felt good to be myself. For me, being in the city is comforting; I can let down my hair and walk around with it no problem because the year-round breeze from the constant motion of people, cars, buses, etc. is there to keep my frizzy mess (i'll never give up) out of face, and allow me to flaunt it the way I love.
2 weeks ago Here was one treasure I found in T.J. Maxxe. Yes, it was designer at ideal price. I encourage all to gain some patience within next time you need an outfit and sift through the rack that looks like a train hit it. I took a picture of these cookies at the Chelsea market to show Pop. They are from Italy, ameretti I volunteered to design the T-shirt for my school organization, Lead for Diversity.

September 11th, 10 years later

I visited Fox's in Marlboro yesterday, where I'll be working on the 24th and 25th of September for the Fall sale party...one of the employees I worked with last time, Song, complemented me on my "fierce" hair. Tonight is shampoo night lol. My desk got organized today! Yesterday I finally finished painting the basement! This bracelet is made of key-chain hooks. HOW U LIKE?
No one should ever forget what happened this day ten years back in the U.S. May all those who lost their lives rest in peace. Today our hearts go out to the strong family members who live with their losses everyday.
It seemed like the time stayed the same today. It took a push-4 espressos- to get up outta bed, and 6 hours before I began working out. This is because last night my cousins Alessandra, Bianca, and Vincent Castronovo celebrated their grandfather's birthday at their home. We danced salsa, merengue, bachata and of course some Beyonce and Pitbull. I barely stood (nevermind sat) still. Pop and Ma couldnt make it due to his surgery...the screws the Doc put in after his second fall on his foot which broke in twelve places have officially been removed from his life. However, Doc left Pop one "souvenir" in his heel. Hopefully Pop won't suffer as much and won't need as many sugar fixes on the way home from Manhattan each Saturday during the rush hour traffic.

Pop's liquorice from Buonitalia in chelsea market is da bomb.

Just finished eating dinner: apple and steamed broccoli =) Three's company was on TV Land today which is unusual cuz typically Sanford and Son is what Pop likes to watch at this time while he chills on the couch after a long day in the city with me all up in it. Today I walked all over Broadway fetching the bargains only Lena G can score and rock. People may think I spend an arm and a leg on my wardrobe based on the fine looking accessories I combine with all my get-ups from my workout outfit to my jeans and basic tops.
Last Sunday before watching the VMAS at our neighbor Lee's house, his lovely family invited me to sing Happy Birthday to his beautiful twins; Louis and Mona. Yesterday I went with Pop on his bag route. This is a picture of a corner in Patterson Jersey. These are packets of nutella, sold at 3 for a buck in BuonItalia at the Chelsea market, where I found his long lost liquorice.

Hurricane my booti

Here in freehold, we just got madddd rain. Pop didn't get to bed at all. This morning I found him in the basement pumping water out. I baked a batch of blueberry muffins, covered the 4 leftover strawberries with snack pack pudding and stuck them in the freezer, and melted a lindt chocolate bar and added confectioner's sugar, chopped strawberry and peanuts and stuck that in as well... He's gonna need the sugar so he claims. While I worked out on the stair case in the basement and walked on the tredmill, he slept on the chair with the news on and I took over turning the machine on and off. He and Ma like the muffins.

MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR

This is a page from one of my favorite magazines, Instyle. It compares pieces from both rocker and surfer perspectives... it reminded me of my girl Jackie's ("Olear") style. I painted this for Marianna, a friend of mine who just turned 90. The single flower (in between the two trios of flowers) represents her unique character that only she can possess. These are the chocolate party favors from Marianna's bday party... there's something else I should try. I painted this for my cousins Livia and Sylvia, the best twins in the hairstyling buisness I know and that's real. It says, "Capelli by Gemelli", which means Hair by Twins. I moved my art eisel downstairs in the basement next to the treadmill. As I painted "Capelli by Gemelli",it acted something like a nightstand. This is a picture that has traveled from cell to cell over the past 4 years or so. It's my brother and I on our porch. I remember that orange polo Ma bought me from Abercrombie. Told ya I went through mad phases. On Wednesday we took Marianna out to lunch. I finally put on the press-on nail tips I bought in the city one time. They really did look like 50 cents. Marianna loved them. Yesterday Pop grilled the rest of the sea bass he caught not too long ago...in the thunderstorm of New Jersey. 42nd and 2nd at 8:30 this morning was packed. Tough on the outside and pretty mostly on the inside... that's why I love rockin some leather with soft pieces like the red top. Bebe had some mint get-ups lemme tell you. Fur gal-our. For authentic and unique pieces, thrift shops are where it's at. Ma's accumulation of buttons has been completly utilized to add to my jewlery collection. I've made a ton of bracelets, rings and necklaces with the cheap string I bought on Broadway last week. My mother's old buttons to funk up my get-ups forever... what's better than that ? Plus I'm reminded of our passion for accessories.

I can't say much, can't complain so take a look in my room...on my walls.

This is what my desk looked like yesterday...now it is twice as cluttered! Some cat was feeling bitter on 21st street about someone... perhaps they'd been exposed to one repetitive way of life:betrayal. Pop needs his dairy queen fix on the way home during the summer months. He says its the only ice-cream place that maintained the creaminess ice-cream had back in the day like when he worked for Carvel on Bradley avenue. Today I bought leather string for jewlery. With the oyster remains I picked up on Manasquan tied in the middle, I now have a fresh necklace to rock. An old friend of the family will be turning 90 soon. Can't go wrong with some brush strokes on a 5 dollar canvas because the product is what reflects the authenticity of my appreciation of this person. So I know she'll love it.

First Niagra, then a taste of Toronto (3 day family trip)

Toronto: Like any other city...had an old with homes unique in every aspect from the stoops to the barbed wire separating the home from the hundred year old church next door. Then you had an a whole strip (Yonge Street) that to me imitated downtown Manhattan (residential area) with endless, brand new condominium buildings and a Starbucks every couple blocks. Niagra Falls is something I feel so happy about seeing because it definitely added more to my perspective about nature and how valuable it is.
